Once Upon a Time

Plot 60 was inspired by a desire many of us share… that of being in charge of my own destiny and working for myself. For many, it remains only a dream. However, during a period of uncertainty at the firm I was working for at the time I thought about what sort of business I could set up and realised that I could do what I was currently doing, only better.

Consulting is all about people; from how we treat & work with clients to how we work with suppliers & partners that deliver the products and services. I knew there was an opportunity to work differently and better with both clients and business partners. I wanted my business to be associated with high calibre staff and have an outstanding reputation for meeting its commitments & delivering promised outcomes; I also wanted it to have a sense of integrity and fairness, for me and my clients. So in 2013, with all this in mind, Plot 60 was created.

I’ve had lots of challenges along the way, learning new skills and being prepared to adapt to a rapidly changing landscape on a day-to-day basis. Having navigated the tough early years what emerged was a solid business with a strong sense of technical and business excellence; whilst remaining true to my core values of fairness, integrity and honesty. The reputation I dreamed about earning at the outset was emerging.

I am often asked where the Plot 60 name comes from. Well, one of my greatest passions is being outdoors, in the garden. It’s good for my mind, body and soul. During those countless phases in my life and career when I’ve been massively busy and often under great stress, whether being away from home, working with insurers in London or solving a client’s challenging problem in Manchester, the rhythm of the natural world and seeing the results of my efforts flourish has been one of my greatest joys. So, Plot 60 is the name of the idyllic little patch of allotment land I once rented for just a couple of pounds a year, just like “The Good Life” (for those that remember it)!

The spirit that inspired me to start Plot 60 lives on as more people join us with the same values and in their own quest to make a difference. Our growing team of partners and associates will be encouraged to collectively challenge what we can do and achieve for the company and clients alike, and the next five years will see Plot 60 growing significantly, delivering services that our customers need and providing rewarding challenges for our team.
